Business Development & Product Intern

San Francisco Part-time and Full-time

SafeBeat Rx has an opportunity to support development of an ECG solution for pharmaceutical drug development applications in clinical or pre-clinical applications. The Business Development & Product intern will collect and synthesize market research to better define new products in biopharmaceutical applications.

Activities include:

  • Partner with head of operations and founders to develop product use case for pharmaceutical or biotech ECG workflows
  • Network and make connections with users in clinical operations, clinical pharmacology, toxicology, in vivo, digital tools and partnering groups at biopharma companies
  • Coordinate outreach & manage relationships via CRM
  • Identify key product questions and collect feedback and information from potential customers, executives, or from independent research
  • Collect letters of support in enable future fundraising or grant applications
  • Create feature list and work with product/engineers to propose path to refine feature requirements
  • Identify regulatory requirements to launch a product in clinical, in vivo, or commercial pharmaceutical applications
  • Evaluate market size, opportunity, and potentially pricing
  • Prioritize product options and collaborate across SafeBeat’s team to identify path forward in pharmaceutical market

Candidate Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled full-time in an undergraduate program, or enrolled full-time in a graduate program (M.S., M.E., MBA, Ph. D., or M.D.), pursuing a degree majoring in a scientific, business, technology, engineering, or law related field
  • Able to meet with potential customers or executives in the biopharma industry
  • Examples include, biomedical, mechanical, electrical engineering, business administration, data analytics/applied statistics, quantitative modeling in biology, pharmacy, life Sciences, medical / scientific writing or public health administration
  • Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1-B status) now or in the future
  • Candidates need to be proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Power Point, and have strong oral and written communication skills
  • Able to work individually, as well as, part of a group, with curiosity and flexibility
  • Possess a “can do” approach, and courage to speak your voice and suggest innovative ideas
  • Interested in working in a small startup environment
  • Experience with CRMs, business development, or customer facing roles are beneficial
  • Familiarity with ECGs, medical workflows, and software product development is beneficial
